Position Summary:
The Occupational Therapist (OT) evaluates and treats injured workers to restore functional abilities required for daily activities and job-specific tasks. This role focuses on upper extremity rehabilitation, functional capacity, ergonomics, and work conditioning to support safe, timely return-to-work outcomes in collaboration with providers, employers, and case managers.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
The Occupational Therapist (OT) evaluates and treats injured workers to restore functional abilities required for daily activities and job-specific tasks. This role focuses on upper extremity rehabilitation, functional capacity, ergonomics, and work conditioning to support safe, timely return-to-work outcomes in collaboration with providers, employers, and case managers.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations, including functional and job-demand assessments
- Develop individualized treatment plans emphasizing functional restoration and return-to-work goals
- Provide interventions such as therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, activity simulation, and modalities
- Conduct upper extremity rehabilitation (e.g., hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder conditions)
- Perform functional capacity evaluations (FCEs) and work conditioning/work hardening programs
- Assess and recommend ergonomic modifications and job task adaptations
- Educate patients on injury prevention, body mechanics, and home exercise programs
- Monitor progress, reassess, and adjust treatment plans as appropriate
- Document evaluations, treatments, and outcomes accurately and timely in the EHR
- Collaborate with providers on work status, restrictions, and care plans
- Communicate with employers, case managers, and adjusters as appropriate
- Ensure compliance with workers’ compensation guidelines and clinical protocols
- Maintain therapy equipment and ensure a safe treatment environment
- Participate in quality improvement, outcomes tracking, and program development

- Strong assessment skills including job analysis and task simulation
- Knowledge of upper extremity and hand therapy (preferred)
- Ergonomics and workplace modification expertise
- Communication and patient education skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving
- Time management and productivity management
- Understanding of workers’ compensation and occupational health practices (preferred)
Qualifications, Education, and Experience
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Minimum of 2–4 years of clinical experience preferred
- Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) or ergonomics certification (preferred)
- Experience in occupational medicine, industrial rehab, or employer-based programs (preferred)
- Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in good standing
- Experience in outpatient rehabilitation, hand therapy, or occupational health
- Proficiency with EHR systems and documentation standards
- Knowledge of FCEs, work conditioning, and ergonomic assessments (preferred)
Compensation: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
